big move

This has been the craziest month! I got a teaching job in North Carolina, so Ben and I packed up and moved a few days later! We made the trip from Sacramento to Fayetteville in about 3 1/2 days -- a quick trip that didn't leave much time for sightseeing, but of course, we had the camera out as much as possible. Here are some photos from the trip!

cause of the season

Let me introduce you to the newest indie girl band around town: Karisse and Stefany, who make up the band, Cause of the Season. They wanted some band pics done, so we had some fun wandering around downtown Sac to get the perfect feel to match their creative energy!

she thinks my tractor's sexy....

I did a photo shoot a few weeks back for an up and coming hair stylist (Liz -- you should go to her, she's awesome) and one of the fabulous girls who modeled for the portfolio was Jordan. I had an amazing time photographing her! She was a little nervous at first, but really got into the shoot and even did some poses not for the faint of heart -- she climbed over a fence and up a tree, scaled haystacks, and even climbed into a tractor...in a dress I might add!

Here are a few of the shots we came up with.

go ahead and jump!

So you may know that one thing I try to do at every shoot is a great jumping picture. Not only are they fun, but I think you can get to know a lot about a person by their jumping style! It says a lot about who they are.

For example, you can tell by Mackenzie's jump that she is spontaneous, bubbly, and loves to have fun. She'll jump into a project or idea immediately and have fun with it.

Bethel's jump shows that she tests the water before making a decision, but once she's made it, she's passionate about completing it. The first shoot I did with her, the jumps were cautious. The second shoot, however, she was jumping off haystacks and kicking her legs in the air.

So now, I present you with some of my favorite jumps! You can observe and decide for yourselves what the personalities of the jumpers are like...or maybe even try a jump yourself!

Your eggo is preggo, no doubt about it.

Let me introduce you to Ariel and Promise. They were both at the shoot I did on Monday, and they are both pregnant! It was so cute...both sisters are about a month apart in their pregnancies, so I couldn't help but get some cute preggo pics of them!

This is Ariel and her soon-to-be little girl, Bailey.

And Promise and her soon-to-be boy, Elias

And both sisters, cute and preggo!

the benefits of being married to one good lookin' man!

The hubby and I are spending the week in Tahoe, and it's been raining just about all week! We took advantage of a few rain-less hours and drove to Tahoe City for the afternoon. I couldn't resist snapping some photos of Ben to share with the world!

And of course, the quintessential jumping picture!

party like it's 2009

I was so excited and honored to attend my friend Marcie's graduation last week. Marcie was my roommate, oh so many years ago, and it was so much fun to celebrate the occasion with her and to hear about all the plans she has for the future, both near and far.

Congratulations and good luck with all you do, my friend!

we are family

This is the Riley family...I had the great pleasure of photographing Scott and the kids for Thea's Mother's Day gift! We went down to the lake and had a blast. I was so glad to get some pictures that really show the character of this amazing family.

I have to say that this was my favorite shot of the day. I said, "Make a funny face!" and they all stuck their tongues out; the same face, each with its own characteristics. They are definitely family!

red

Last week, Bethel and I ventured out to El Dorado Hills to explore some good photo shoot spots. We found a ton, and ended up spending hours just walking, talking, laughing, and shooting pictures! Here are a few of the ones we liked the best!

mac attack

I want to introduce you to Mackenzie. She's a friend of a friend who I have recently gotten to know over the past few months, and last week I had the pleasure of doing a shoot with her! What I didn't realize was how much fun that two hours would be. We laughed, we nearly cried (from laughing too hard) and we jumped. Oh, how we jumped. Well, she did anyway. You'll see what I mean!

We found some hats in front of an antique shop we walked by, and just had to have some fun with them!

And of course, the jumping...

We then took a walk down by the lake and ended up with some great sunset shots. All in all it was a fantastic day full of laughter and fun!
